An evening given over entirely to Edward Elgar. The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra plays the composer's two best-loved works: the Cello Concerto in E minor and the Enigma Variations.
The British cellist Guy Johnston is the soloist and Marios Papadopoulos conducts. The concert is the cultural half of the Armenia–UK Business Forum 2026, but the tickets are on general sale, and one needn't have a lanyard to attend.
The programme
First half: the Cello Concerto, Op. 85 (about 35 minutes). After the interval: the Enigma Variations, Op. 36 (about 38 minutes).
Children are admitted from the age of six.
